Arriving in Vegas at 7am, staying at MGM;how would you check in with hopes of the $20 sandwich being a success
Airline Ticketsgnfnrs91 asked:
I’m arriving in Vegas 7am local time (cheapest southwest flight) and staying at the MGM. Their airport check-in doesn’t open till 9am. I don’t want to show up at the hotel at 8am wanting to check-in, and be a jerk.

I’m also going to do the $20 trick, so I’m sure that would have an effect on when and where I should check-in.
Is it worth waiting over an hour to check in at the airport? Or just head straight to the MGM?
thanks!

Stow your bags with the concierge if they won’t take them at 8am at check-in and go have fun until YOU are ready to check in. The hotel is the least important part of your Vegas trip.

Your trip will seem to short to play the check in game. Stow your luggage with bell hop and RUN!!! Whatever the time is that you get back to check in then try the $20 trick. Depending on how long you are staying there determines the offer. If your there for 7 nights try $50. Heard it has worked.

I would go straight to the hotel–If the hotel is not full, most likely they will let you check in even at that time.
Remember that the hotel wants you there to gamble and spend money, they wont decline you the room unless they have to. I have checked in around 8-9am before without a problem in Vegas hotels.
Otherwise have them hold your bags. Then just relax, gamble, head out by the pool , or grab some food while your room is being prepared.

Iceman is correct. I often arrive early and if the room is available they just go ahead and check you in. I like to stretch my vacaion so I arrive early and leave on the last day on the last flight out.
Check in at 7am and head for the fabulous breakfast buffet at Paris. It opens from 7-11am. The food is so good you won’t have to eat again until dinner.

I would go directly to the hotel and check in. You are not likely to get your room until early afternoon anyway because normal check in time is about 3:00 PM and Vegas is notorious for not having rooms ready when you arrive or on time. So just plan on dropping your bags at the bell desk and enjoying the hotel and strip. There will be a lot more to do on the strip than at the airport. Also, many times when you arrive in Vegas it takes a long time to get luggage, regardless of when your flight arrives. You may have only a few minutes to wait at the airport for the hotel desk to open.

Go and check in. If a room is available they will allow you to check in if not they will store your bags and you can start your vacation right away!
Have fun!
