How can I get the cheapest flights to Phoenix from Detroit?

Airline Tickets 4 Comments »
?HI? asked:

My friends and I want to go to Phoenix, Arizona on either Christmas break or after school ends at the beginning of June (even though it would be very hot). When could we get the cheapest flights from Detroit, Michigan? I was hoping to find a flight for under $300 round trip. If we can’t find a flight for under that, where else do you suggest we could go that we could fly to inexpensively, besides Las Vegas? Thanks!

Cheap Airfare to Greece for Honeymoon: Any suggestions for how to do this from San Francisco?

berkeleygolden_bear asked:

I am planning a honeymoon from September 17th to October 13 from San Francisco (SFO) to Athens Greece. Airfare is currently about $1200 round trip per person. I have about 170,000 American miles and 230,000 United miles, but can’t find a frequent flier ticket to get me to Europe. Do people have ideas about cheap bargins to Europe (e.g. travel to London and then use ryanair to get to Greece). Which have worked really well for you to defray the cost?

How to Find Discounted Airfares Online

Airfares No Comments »
George Wood asked:

A number of airlines, travel agents are travel sites are offering discounted airfares. One many get confused as to which is the best one. Well you should have some time and patience so find that. Of course you should have the skills to search on the net also.

Airfares form a major part of anyones vacation budget. Hence the discounted airfares are really helpful. The easiest way to get discounted airfare is to make the booking in advance. However there are some other ways also which are given below.

First of all you should search on the airlines sites. You will most probably get some discounts if you purchase the ticket from their sites. However they may not be the best discounts available. So before you start searching for the best discounted airfare just have a look at the airlines sites and note down the discounted rate offered by them.

You can get the best available airfare by logging onto sites like AirfareGlobal.com, Sidestep.com or Kayak.com. These sites search the internet and display the best available option. So you do not need to visit each site individually to know about the best fares.

Some big sites like Travelocity.com have closed their database for the search engines so that they do not loose much of their traffic. So if you want to know about their discounted rates, you need to visit some other travel sites like Orbitz or Expedia.

In case you have some time left for your trip, you should make it a point to check the internet regularly. Check the different sites at random hours say make one check at 8 in the morning, then 4 in the evening and lastly 10 in the night. You may be able to get great discounted offers this way. You need to have some luck to avail these discounted airfares because they are old out very quickly.

It is often a hard task to track of all the various discounts that you can find and take advantage of. You need constantly search a lot of airline travel websites on the Internet or keep very close contacts with your travel agents. Sometimes, go with your travel agents is the better choice, as they have good access to all available discounts and airlines with discounted rates on most flights they are offering. They also may have access to offers that may not be given to the general public.

You can also go for the flexible fare searches especially when your dates are not confirmed. You can book your tickets for the day on which the rates are the lowest.

You can travel during the off-season or book well in advance to get the discounted rates. You are sure to get big discounts this way!

What Everybody Ought to Know About Finding Cheap Airfares

Millard Hiner asked:

heap airfares in this day in age with ever increasing fuel costs is a carefully perfected art. There is no doubt that each of us know of a friend who has a knack for always getting the best deals. The trick is to find airfares that are cheap. Finding cheap airfares however is very very simple if you know where to look. Using the web is an airfare hunter’s most valuable tool in addition to knowing which airlines are notorious for flying cheap.

This article will put you and your family on the way to flying inexpensively around the world with a minimal amount of research and effort. We want airfare cheap deals to jump out at us and the most valuable website that any airfare hunter uses is kayak dot com. Although the name might make you think of rafting down river rapids, I assure you that kayak will always find most of the best deals on the internet. Simply put, you search at kayak.com for the date, time and type (first class or coach) of flight that you want to take. Kayak then pools all the deal sites and also all the airline’s price listings to provide relevant results. The listings are grouped by price and airline so if you have a favorite company to travel with you can easily choose that airline.

Many times my cheap airfare searches have consisted of simply going to kayak and then ordering a ticket. If you are not initially satisfied with kayak then you can save your data and kayak will perform the searches over and over for you so you can monitor the price status over the coming weeks. The bottom line is to save on airfare and usually kayak delivers.

For flights going west I have a special affinity towards Southwest Airlines. In addition to having a full refund on all of their flights in case you have to cancel they also have an excellent piece of software that alerts flyers of deals. When Southwest is offering cheap seats on select flights this piece of software, called “Ding” will pop up and make a sound to alert you of the deal. Although you generally can’t use “Ding” for extensively planned trips because the deals usually happen at a spur of the moment, you can flight spontaneously for very low prices. Many times I have traveled to San Francisco for less than $150 to visit family.

Lastly, the most important point to remember when searching for cheap flights is never become impatient. Often if you wait longer than you normally would to book a flight a less expensive deal will emerge. Although searching for a cheap flight can be time consuming and sometimes uncertain, the end result of saving significant amounts of money traveling will allow you to feel good about spending money at your destination. Also, you will great bragging rights when you one-up fellow travelers.

What is the best site for cheap international airfare from Vancouver?

stupidnicknames asked:

I doubt anyone will have a good answer on this. I moved to Vancouver from Europe and even though I’m not on an island, I’m feeling trapped. Airfare is friggin expensive….

So please don’t tell me: Westjet, Aircanada, Airtransat, Harmony, Expedia, Travelocity, Flightcentre or, drive down to Seattle cuz that’s travel too!

Anyone have a site or an airline that they’ve personally used that can get me to Europe for less than a month’s salary for crying out loud? :-(

How do I get the lowest airfare possible?

sunshinyorange asked:

I’m planning on traveling from Atlanta to Los Angeles from July 30 to August 3. I’ve been checking airfare, and it’s too expensive. Are there any tips for getting the lowest airfare possible? (I’ve been checking the airlines’ websites–I’m unfamiliar with Travelocity, Orbitz, etc.) Should I wait until the last minute to book it, go through a travel agent, etc.? Any advice is appreciated!
Also forgot to add–my dates are flexible by 1 - 2 days either way, and I’ll be traveling with a 4-year-old.
